"These aerial bridges are expected to protect rhesus macaques, capped langurs, Indian civets, and small carnivores, such as fishing cats, from being run over," said Abu Naser Mohsin Hossain, Divisional Forest Officer of Tangail, to Mongabay.

According to a 2018 study, the Madhupur National Park, with 8,436 hectares (20,845 acres), is the largest deciduous forest in Bangladesh and is home to 151 species of wildlife belonging to 23 orders and 62 families. However, none of the road kills in Madhupur can be documented, as the forest-dependent indigenous community consumes the carcasses soon after an accident, said Md. Naser said the nylon rope bridges are expected to provide safe aerial corridors for both nocturnal and diurnal arboreal animals. Each is 30 meters (100 feet) long and nearly 1 meter (3 feet) wide.
